Terrifier 2

Director: Damien Leone
Year Released: 2022
Rating: 1.5

The second part of the Terrifier series continues where the first one left off: bloodthirsty Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) has somehow survived a bullet through his noggin to continue to torment and murder people on Halloween, this time targeting Sienna (Lauren LaVera) and her brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) ... and then dispatching everyone else he meets, accompanied by his imaginary friend (Amelie McLain).  The special effects (once again done by Mr. Leone) are quite impressive for an independent movie, but even with the extended length - it clocks in at two hours and eighteen minutes - he's still not sure how to properly develop his characters, provide background details on his villain, etc.  The "kills" are pretty clever and brutal, however, which gorehounds will definitely respond to (it's allegedly caused some audience members to vomit, but I think it's because they had the fish for dinner) - there's something seriously wrong with me for laughing when Art brings out actual salt to rub on an open wound ... and then uses a carved out human head to give trick or treaters candy.
