The Trip to Greece

Director: Michael Winterbottom
Year Released: 2020
Rating: 1.5

Fourth full length 'road trip' movie with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon - playing "themselves" - now has them in Greece where they once again (a.) try out different accents (b.) quibble with each other (c.) break into impromptu songs and (d.) eat very expensive food that they don't seem to care about very much.  Like the other three, it's defiantly frivolous - after one of them brings up a historical fact about the location they happen to be in (Lesbos, Hydra, Delphi) they just drift off to doing more impressions (Coogan does a knockout Ray Winstone, I still like Brydon's Hopkins) ... and then at the end, Winterbottom has the audacity to break out Max Richter's "On the Nature of Daylight" and expect you to feel like there's some bigger statement being made.  There isn't.  It is, however, a pretty ad for a country that everyone should try to visit at some point.
