Tab Hunter Confidential

Director: Jeffrey Schwarz
Year Released: 2015
Rating: 1.5

Simple look at the career of Tab Hunter, from being raised by a single mother to success as a singer and movie star before his career would turn to (gasp!) dinner theater ... all while remaining "in the closet." Basically an expanded Biography episode on A&E - it bears noting that this was produced by Hunter's life partner Allan Glaser, so don't expect any criticism (Hunter's acting can best be described as "campy," if you ask me) - it places a heavy emphasis on its subject's (secret) personal life with ice skater Ronnie Robertson and Anthony Perkins and shows how he became less interested in acting over time (once the roles dried up) and more into horse racing. There are a select few Old Hollywood anecdotes in there for those with an interest in such gossipy things ... and the whole 'fake relationship' tactics the studios pulled to generate publicity (Tab and Natalie Wood!) are still very much in place (cough, cough Taylor Swift et al.).
