Night at the Museum

Director: Shawn Levy
Year Released: 2006
Rating: 1.0

Pitch meeting: Put Ben Stiller in museum that comes to life after hours and have him look just as flustered and bewildered as he is in every other movie he's ever been in. Also, let's not forget the abundant CGI, funny-talking Mongolian Warriors and a monkey that alternatively slaps and pees on Stiller. Very pre-teen oriented, leaving a kid-masquerading-as-an-adult like myself simultaneously appreciative of the low-brow shenanigans but balking at the merely serviceable acting and warped scenes with the son: since when does the father have to 'prove himself' to his offspring? Isn't the obligation of the child to make the Father proud? This I know is true: Carla Gugino will continue aging marvelously.
