Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Director: Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham
Year Released: 2024
Rating: 3.0

English inventor Wallace (voiced by Ben Whitehead) irritates his beloved canine companion Gromit by creating a robotic gnome named Norbot (Reece Shearsmith) who can handle the household chores and manage the yard work, but when nefarious penguin Feathers McGraw, who's in "prison" (actually the zoo) for trying to steal the precious Blue Diamond, gets ahold of a computer terminal, he reprograms Norbot to be evil (and self-replicate).  As is expected from Park's directorial efforts, the stop-motion animation is a delight and the film is both charming and smart, cleverly including multiple references to other movies (such as Cape Fear, From Russia With Love, The Italian Job, etc.) ... and there's a friendly warning in there about becoming overly reliant on modern technology since many tasks can be done using human labor (so take that Siri, Alexa and Google).  It may not be simple to do, but this is proof you can craft a feature for children and keep the grown-ups just as engaged.
