Blade: Trinity

Director: David S. Goyer
Year Released: 2004
Rating: 1.5

Last part of the Blade trilogy has dhampir Eric Brooks (Wesley Snipes) captured by the Feds, his friend and armorer Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) is killed, he's "rescued" by fellow vampire hunters Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds) and Abigail (Jessica Biel) and then is informed a woman named Danica Talos (Parker Posey) has resurrected none other than the original bloodsucker himself, Dracula (Dominic Purcell).  While many people (including the director, who also wrote the first two) believe this is the worst of the series and although there are serious issues with the plot and the diced-up action sequences, I think the cast helps out a lot: Posey's campy Catwoman-like villainess is a delight, and Reynolds' sarcastic banter provides a nice balance to Snipes' man-of-few-words.  The production was a disaster, of course: Patton Oswalt (who plays Hedges) told Pete Holmes that Wesley was "going crazy and wouldn't come out of his trailer," smoked a ton of weed and only communicated with Post-It notes ... that were signed "Blade."  Now that's method acting, baby.
