When You Finish Saving the World

Director: Jesse Eisenberg
Year Released: 2022
Rating: 0.0

Evelyn (Julianne Moore) and her high school aged son Ziggy (Finn Wolfhard) do not get along: she runs a women's shelter that takes care of battered women while he's a streamer on a platform called Hi-Hat (a nod to TikTok) who wants to impress his classmate Lila (Alisha Boe) by "becoming political" (despite having a limited knowledge of history).  For actor Eisenberg (in his directorial debut), this is a purely surface level "examination" of familial dysfunction, and since both his leads are extremely repellent - Evelyn thinks she can "save" a young man from a future as an auto mechanic by having him go to Oberlin College, Ziggy can't stop humble-bragging about how many "followers" he has - there's no one to "root for" ... with the exception of Evelyn's husband Roger (Jay O. Sanders), who accurately claims that "everyone around me is a narcissist."  Also, just because you worked with Noah Baumbach doesn't make you Noah Baumbach.
