After being fired from their day job at a big newspaper, a group of journalists - with some financial assistance - start their own paper ("The Globe") to compete against the big boys in publishing ... only their main adversary is a woman. I don't know what's being said about women in the business - the feminine antagonist is a shrill, gussied-up witch, playing 'masculine' (big no-no) in a world of men (notice the chronology on the wall of the 'great publishers'). Everyone gets all worked up emotionally (you can almost see tears) whenever the idea of 'journalistic integrity' comes up - the 'bad men' get mauled in front of the watchdog eyes of Benjamin Franklin, gazing over them all.
