In the Tall Grass

Director: Vincenzo Natali
Year Released: 2019
Rating: 0.0

While on a road-trip, pregnant Becky (Laysla De Oliveira) and her brother Cal (Avery Whitted) stop by a field with impossibly high grass and hear a child named Tobin (Will Buie Jr.) calling for help, so they walk in the field to help him ... except the grass is controlled by ... a demonic meteoroid that refuses to let them leave.  I've given Stephen King (who co-wrote the source novella with his son) a lot of credit in the past for having some great ideas, but this belongs in the rubbish bin: he's trying to tap into the primal 'fear of being lost in the woods' but the result is more silly than scary ... and it even uses some awful time travel/alternate dimension trick to 'end' the movie.  Somehow I feel this could have all been solved with a fleet of John Deeres.
