After a brief global blackout takes place, almost everyone on Earth has forgotten who The Beatles (you know: John, Paul, Ringo and George) were (along with cigarettes and Oasis and Harry Potter and Coca-Cola) except for unsuccessful singer-songwriter Jack Malik (Himesh Patel), who then plays those classics for people for the first time and achieves instant fame.  As if fawning over the Fab Four wasn't nauseating enough, Jack is a pathetically dense character who looks like he's in a perpetual state of confusion and sweet schoolteacher Ellie (Lily James), also his first manager, only exists to fawn over him (while he remains oblivious to her advances).  There is a sweet moment where Jack tracks down and speaks with John Lennon (played by Robert Carlyle), but what about the rest of the lads?  Are we just gonna ignore George?  And who encouraged Kate McKinnon to act like a cartoon character?
