I Married a Witch

Director: René Clair
Year Released: 1942
Rating: 2.0

Veronica Lake and her father are out to curse the descendants of the man who had her put to death as a witch in this bubbly but really dated comedy. If there's anything that keeps this from getting unbearable it's Lake and Fredric March, who have some genuine chemistry together - March, a politician trying to keep his image clean, has to fend off lusty, translucent Lake, who turns to smoke and appears anywhere she likes. Not as charming as Topper.
