White Chicks

Director: Keenen Ivory Wayans
Year Released: 2004
Rating: 0.5

Two of the least likely Feds (Marlon and Shawn Wayans) go undercover as two Caucasian socialites in order to bust a crooked guy (John Heard) - I'd do a better job of describing the particulars if it bothered making any sense to begin with. One would think that the man responsible for one of the best sketch comedy shows ever made (In Living Color) would see this opportunity to cleverly satirize both gender and race issues with this particular set-up, but he (and his other five screenwriters) resorts to routine toilet humor and gay jokes (and keeping the material safe enough to ensure that precious money-making PG-13 rating). When your movie is devoted to mocking Paris Hilton - as simple a target imaginable - you aren't stretching your comedic talents whatsoever. Despite the lazy filmmaking, Terry Crews will always be something special, even with less-than-special material.
