Cowboys and Aliens (2011) review

Genre mash-up with paper thin 'characters' - perfect for the heat-damaged Summertime audience! Brawny cowboys (Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford) discover that, well, there are critters from out yonder trying to mine Earth of its gold, and so they team up with the Native Americans (a twist!) to repel these new invaders. The battle scenes are stock and the characters utterly uninteresting (Craig puckers his lips; Ford scowls) but what really got me is the truly awful dialogue: there are eight writers involved and they couldn't conjure at least a handful of zingers or something? This one seems primed and ready for a "yippee-ki-yay motherfucker." Ah, wait, it's the infamous PG-13....
