Brutish, pistol-wielding, barely clothed (and unshaved) Zed (Sean Connery, in probably his most eccentric role) stumbles into a closed-off world of people who cannot age and don't understand sexual desire: strangely, he rides into this village on a giant floating stone head. B-grade Brave New World lacks a clarity of vision (and a little thing called 'coherence') and is more often than not jargony and tacky, but the heart is there, I think: it's better to have a world of foolish mortals doing zany things than a world where nothing at all happens and nobody feels anything (during the finale, when the locals crave the sweet release of death, it's a bit much). The abundance of breasts do a nice job of distracting Connery and, well, me: it's more relaxing to stare at mammaries than worry about transitions in Boorman's 'plot.'
