Shrek the Third

Director: Chris Miller and Raman Hui
Year Released: 2007
Rating: 1.0

Three Shreks, four Shreks, five Shreks, they're going to keep making them as long as people keep watching them. If you're the type of person who wants the same exact thing as parts one and two - because they were so damn funny - it's sure to please: in this clever installment, outcast Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) stages a coup while three guys collecting paychecks (Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas) go out to find a successor to the King's throne. There are potty gags for the kids, some references to Rosemary's Baby and Midnight Cowboy for the critics (or maybe the overworked staff who need to remind themselves of what good movies are) and a short running time for those of us who can only take so much. The best part: when the Gingerbread Man's life flashes before his eyes (somebody please make a short for that loveable cookie).
